Bryn Mawr College Program in Film Studies presents Tarnation, screening and Q&A with Jonathan Caouette, Sunday March 1, 2009, 3-6pm in Thomas 224

In 2004, Jonathan Caouette gained international attention with Tarnation, a film he pieced together on his iMac computer, using Apple’s iMovie.  The film is part documentary, part narrative fiction, part home movie, and part acid trip.  A psychedelic whirlwind of snapshots, Super-8 home movies, old answering machine messages, video diaries, early short films, snippets of ’80 pop culture, and dramatic reenactments come together to create an epic portrait of an American family travesty.  Tarnation screened at Cannes and Sundance film festivals and garnered numerous prestigious awards.  Open to the Community.
