Flower Boys & Tom Boys: Articulations of Gender in the Korean Wave

In this lecture, Dredge Käng provides an overview of the Korean Wave (Hallyu), the spreading of Korean culture via television dramas, pop music, and other media. Dredge will focus on the Korean Wave's representations of transgenderism, homosexuality, and “soft masculinity” as manifested in new media platforms and modes of fandom.
